The Laura Secord Bicentennial Event and Commemorative Walk

Saturday, June 22, 2013, marks the 200th anniversary of Laura Secord's historic walk to warn a British outpost of an impending enemy attack.

There will be commemorations and activities at the Laura Secord Homestead in Queenston, Ontario and commemorative walks to DeCew House in Thorold, where the celebrations will continue and participants will learn about the Battle of Beaverdams and the aboriginal allies who fought and won this battle. Several walk options will be available so all ages and abilities can participate. There will also be several pre- and post-events.

This event is currently in the planning stages and is getting bigger by the day, so stay tuned for more information.

Cost: FREE to the public. But, nominal fee for some of the walk options.
