Niagara Falls International Marathon

Date: October 24, 2010
Time:
Location:

Niagara Falls, ON

905 356-9460

The Niagara Falls International Marathon celebrated its inaugural running in 1974. The race was known as the Skylon Marathon. Beginning during the first wave of the North American running boom, it quickly became a favourite as it was, and still is, the only marathon in the world that starts in one country and finishes in another - a destination marathon that crosses an international border, providing the runners with an experience of a lifetime. The event includes a Marathon, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Walk, 10km & 5km Run.

This year, the Marathon will partner with the Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council to feature an 1812 theme. The Marathon, with a route that passes the historical sites of Old Fort Erie and the Battle of Chippawa, will celebrate the great history of the War of 1812 and the peace between Canada and the United States that followed. More details to come soon.
