For immediate release
Dominion Repertory Theatre call for auditions for The Lion and The Eagle
Fort Erie, ON, August 22, 2011 –
Re-enactors and actors: Auditions!
Dominion Repertory Theatre is a newly founded, not-for-profit theatre company based in Fort Erie. The company will present its first original production "The Lion and the Eagle" in conjunction with the 1812 Bicentennial Celebrations in Fort Erie. There are twelve speaking parts in the play, six of which are un-cast. The company is run on a co-operative basis.
The Lion and The Eagle is loosely based on actual people, events and locales. The play will dramatize the various themes, views, and prejudices held by the local citizens just prior to the outbreak of war. Military personnel, farmers, families, and merchants are all gathering at Moody’s to celebrate the season. But things are not all as they seem. Soon the cheers turn to jeers as tempers flare and tension mounts.
Actors who are interested in auditioning should attend the open auditions Thursday August 25th at 7:00 PM TO 9:00 pm or Thursday September 1st at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fort Erie Library located at the corner of Central Ave. and Gilmore Rd. You may present a monologue and/or read from the script. Rehearsals will begin in September and the production will premiere for a minimum of 8 performances in January 2012. Please contact to let us know what day works best for you.
