The theme this year is The War Of 1812 here in Grimsby. Competition Open to all Grimsby residents and Grimsby students.

This is an opportunity for everyone to discover and reflect on the importance of the War of 1812 and Grimsby's part in it. Art submissions will celebrate the 200th anniversary of The War of 1812.

Entries can commemorate the local battles, historical homes, people and lifestyles that define Grimsby’s involvement in this significant historical event.

*All Entries must be submitted to the Grimsby Public Art Gallery between Feb. 7-10 during regular gallery hours and no later than 4:30 p.m. on Feb 10, 2012.

*Cash Prizes will be awarded to Winners of each of the 6 category levels at a special Council Presentation following the Award Ceremony.

* Everyone is welcome to attend the Award Ceremony held at the art gallery Feb. 20 at 1:30 p.m.
