The community will have the chance to show its bicentennial pride through the purchase of commemorative flags.
Niagara-on-the-Lake’s War of 1812 Bicentennial Committee is offering up custom-designed bicentennial flags for sale. The flags, designed by Niagara-on-the-Lake resident and graphic designer Barbara Gelb, have been installed on Town-owned utility poles on Queen and King Streets and a Queenston-version will be flying throughout that village area. The bicentennial flags are flying alongside the Union Jack and the Canadian flag.
The flags will be available for purchase at the Town offices in Virgil and the Friends of Fort George store at Fort George National Historic Site.
|There are three sizes of flags available: 24 inches by 48 inches, 27 inches by 54 inches, and 30 inches by 60 inches. Aluminum flag poles and mounting brackets are also available for purchase.
There is only a limited number of flags available for purchase, additional quantities will be ordered depending on public response.
