An archival website showing Niagara’s legacy
This website is an archive of all of the signature events that took place during the bicentennial in Canada’s Niagara region and in Western New York. It’s a time capsule to some degree; the Legacy Council wanted something to leave behind for future generations to know what took place to commemorate during 2012 to 2015.
When you scroll through the Events page, note that the listings with the large photos were a Signature event, commemorating a 200th anniversary. Other events with the smaller icons were of events done on a smaller scale. This listing does not include all events that took place; there were hundreds of small community / grassroots events that were held too.
In saying that, please note that this is a static website that will not see changes over the years. If you have any inquiries, you may contact firstname.lastname@example.org but responses are not guaranteed. The Legacy Council was shut down on February 27, 2015.
