1812 Legacy Council’s Opening Ceremonies Weekend

Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the declaration of the War of 1812 (June 18, 1812), the Legacy Council hosted a handful of events June 15-18, including a ceremony with the Governor General of Canada.

The Opening Ceremonies was awarded the TOP CANADIAN EVENT for 2012 by the American Bus Association.

The weekend commemorates the 200th anniversary of the proclamation of war. (June 18, 1812.)

The official opening ceremonies start at 10 a.m. with dignitaries at Queenston Heights in Niagara-on-Lake, Ontario, and is open to the public. Included, is a Heritage Fair from 10-5, educational activities and crafts for kids, live entertainment, and more… all for FREE.
