6:00 – 6:15 am Sunrise Ceremony prior to:
The Laura Secord Commemorative Walk
200 years to the day since Laura Secord walked out her door…and into
history. People walked out the same door Laura Secord did exactly 200 years before and embarked on their own “Walk into History”; a 32 km journey traversing Niagara, from the Laura Secord Homestead in Queenston to the DeCew House in Thorold, where Laura Secord delivered her fateful message to Lt. Fitzgibbon. Departures started at 6:15 AM from the Homestead. Several options were available (shorter and later start from other locations)

All Day Saturday
Laura Secord Homestead – family fun all day at the Homestead, and doors open throughout the
historic Village of Queenston

DeCew House – 3:00 PM
Special Ceremony to commemorate Laura Secord and the First Nations
People’s contribution to the history of Canada. Fitzgibbon’s 49th, entertainment, food
Other stages of Walk (refreshment stages):
Firemen’s Park: Antique fire truck, Boy Scouts of Canada, refreshments
Niagara College: Special Laura Secord ham radio operation setup – call out around the world, wine and beer tour and tastings, various food options
Rodman Hall: Historic mansion and art gallery, refreshments, entertainment
Rotary Park: Family fun, refreshments – last stop before new Bridge at Laura’s Crossing, Six Nations spiritual site, and DeCew House.

Special Service and Worship Ceremony and a Special Message from His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales
Holy Trinity Church, Chippawa
Laura Secord attended Holy Trinity Church for over 30 years. It is also where she met HRH The Prince of Wales in 1860. Rosalee Peppard provided musical accompaniment to the service
