Opening ceremonies took place this morning for the “Climb aboard history” event at the docks in Port Dalhousie as three Tall Ships were officially welcomed to the area.

The event put on by the 1812 Legacy Council saw the vessels Pride of Baltiore and the Lynx (both War of 1812 replicas) and the Unicorn (the only tall ship in the world with an all-female crew) officially open their hatches for two days of public tours as part of Canada Day celebrations as well as a commemoration of the War of 1812 bicentennial.
