What took place

The Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council, in partnership with Brock University and WNED, presented “The War of 1812″ on the big screen, before the nationwide broadcast on October 10, 2011.

With a wine tasting from Palatine Hills Estates’ new 1812 vintages, the event featured the entire two-hour documentary with an intermission. The highly anticipated film kick-started the momentum in celebrating the bicentennial. This was an event organized by the Legacy Council, in an effort to bring Niagara’s attention to  2012’s bicentennial. This event ended up being a huge success, with the theatre almost at it’s capacity of 500.
